A Future Full of Hope

A Letter from the President...

Dear Friend,

Somewhere in your history you have a connection with Sisters of the Presentation; and so, I would like to share with you the next phase of our Presentation story.

The Sisters of the Presentation knew that major changes had to be made with the Mount Saint Joseph property in New Windsor, New York if the sisters were to continue their lifetime commitment of serving others and caring for their senior sisters. Therefore, in 2005, the sisters began planning to build a smaller complex on the back acreage of Mount Saint Joseph so as to reduce their building and maintenance expenses. This decision will enable us to continue our mission and to care for our senior sisters in both New Windsor, NY and Leominster, MA. When completed, the new facility will feature an assisted living center with a chapel, five stand alone homes for independent senior sisters and an administration center for those involved in the internal work of the congregation.

The total cost of the proposed building project is $7,060,000, of which $4,000,000 is being raised from the sale of a portion of our present property and all the buildings. An additional $1,303,755 was raised by the sisters themselves who gave gifts of their own inheritance and other savings to the project. We will endeavor to raise the remaining $2,000,000 needed to make our vision for the future a reality by embarking on a capital campaign, “A Future Full of Hope”.

The response, thus far, from our friends and families has been truly inspiring despite these uncertain economic times. To date, the campaign has raised close to $500,000 from the first 100 donors. While this fantastic beginning has us optimistic about our chances for success, we still have a ways to go to reach our $2,000,000 goal. We will need the prayers and generosity of each and every one of our supporters if we are to fund this most worthy project. And so, we turn to you today for your support.

Please take time to review this brochure and prayerfully consider making a pledge to our building campaign. Pledges are payable over one, three or five years, allowing you to make a significant contribution without the burden of writing one large check. Also, please note that you can make your gift in memory of a family member, a friend or a former teacher and there are many naming opportunities listed in the campaign brochure.

Thank you once again for your support and your prayers. They are our richest gifts.

Gratefully,

Sr. Catherine Cleary
President
