Mount Saint Joseph

From the West, North, and South: New York State Thruway to Exit 17 Newburgh. Go through Toll …do NOT take first right (Rt. 84), but keep driving ahead until you get to Route 17 K. Take a right unto Route 17K West and get in the left turn lane. Take a left at the light (Route 300 South). Nissan dealership is a good landmark. Go 1.4 miles. Then make a right onto Route 207. (Mobil gas station another landmark) Continue on Route 207 West…you will pass the entrance to Stewart International airport on your right. After Stewart Airport continue West on Route 207 for about ½ mile. The Mount will be on your left. You cannot enter the main gate. Continue to the next LEFT turn…Jackson Ave. Make left onto Jackson Avenue to the next left turn, which is the back entrance to the Mount. (There is an entrance sign by the barn). Park in Lot and take pathway on your left (facing building) to front of Chapel.

From the East: Cross the Hudson River on the Newburgh -Beacon Bridge on Route 84. Continue on Route 84. Take Exit 7S Newburgh-Union Ave./Stewart Airport) When you exit you will be on Rt. 300 South. You will pass through a busy intersection of Route 300 and Route 17K, but stay on Route 300 to the Mobil gas station. Make a right onto 207 West. Continue on Route 207 West past the entrance to Stewart International airport on your right. After Stewart Airport continue West on Route 207 for about ½ mile. The Mount will be on your left. Take 495 to 2 West to the Leominster/Worcester 190 exit to Mechanic St. Do not take the "Mechanic Street" exit. You will go through 4 lights after exiting. First-soon after you exit off of 190 Second-Whitney Field Mall and IC Credit Union will be on your right Third-after St. Cecilia Church, which will be on your right Fourth-Main St., Leominster Go through the fourth light, the first right will be Church St. Make a right hand turn and pass the police and fire stations, which will be on your right. Cross over Merriam Avenue and continue on Church Street to the very end. You will see the convent on the right.
